On Memorial day-The day Rileys death was confirmed, the hospital moved Riley into a bigger bed, and moved his tubes and machines so that I could get in bed and snuggle his beautiful little body. I put his little leg up on mine and his hand on my heart so he could feel my heart beat one last time. So many nights he would crawl into bed with me in the middle of the night. The minute he was snuggled up against me, he would fall back to sleep. As I lay there snuggled up to his little body-I sang him this song. Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare.... Ive hummed this song to him through 18 months of fever episodes and many times as I rocked him to sleep. More of a cry out for mercy to fall on my mommy heart than anything. But I love the song.
