On Monday I was summoned for jury duty. I attended as I normally do. I was then called to a court room, went thru joir dire, was selected as a juror and for the last 5 days have been involved in a criminal trial. It has been one of the best experiences ever. Best in the sense that I met some great people, learned not to fear the San Diego transit system and that our trial system does actually work! I know several friends that think jury duty is a joke and an inconvenience, but I truly value the experience I went thru in the last several days.
