On Myanmars Census, UNs self-serving worse-than-useless morons and Western donors. By definition, census or population statistics is NOT primarily about peoples well-being, but about states ability, attempt and design to control TERRITORIES, LABOUR and POPULATION. Tell this to UNs highly paid, but utterly worse-than-useless functionaries, or census consultants - academics or otherwise - and foreign office-types - who stupidly think census is about technical matters or about development. If you look at the whole development discourse through non-rose tinted eyes you will see how destructive, disgusting and deluded the whole idea is. Planning for millions - by warped minds trained in the intellectually fundamentally flawed field called economics, dev econ or mainstream - gotta rank as one of the greatest and enduring extraordinary delusions in history.
