On November 10, 1775, the formation of two battalions of Continental Marines, forever marked November 10 as the birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Tomorrow is November 10 and, as it does each year, Washington National Cathedral will host the Corps annual birthday service, commemorating the 238th anniversary of the founding of the Corps. It is a service I have never attended. I intend to attend tomorrow. By its very nature, it would almost have to be one of the more spectacular and grand services on the Cathedrals annual calendar. Ill let you know. The service is open to the public. Come on out, if you want to see somethings stirring, patriotic and grand, on the day before Veterans Day.
