On November 4, 2014, Genoa Township Trustee Barb Lewis successfully won the general election for a seat on the Delaware County Board of Commissioners. As Commissioner-Elect Lewis begins her preparations to assume this seat on January 1, 2015, the Genoa Township Board of Trustees has commenced a search to replace Ms. Lewis for the remainder of her unexpired term on the Board of Trustees, which runs through the end of 2015. The following outlines the appointment process that the Board of Trustees unanimously adopted at its Regular Meeting on November 6, 2014: First, qualified and interested citizens of Genoa Township should submit the following materials to the attention of Township Administrator Paul Wise: •A letter expressing both interest in the appointment and the candidate’s qualifications for office •A completed copy of Genoa Township’s employment application. This application is available on the township’s website at genoatwp/webdocuments/genoaapplication.pdf or upon request at the Township’s Administrative Offices located at 5111 South Old 3C Highway, Westerville, Ohio 43082. •Resume •List of references Materials may be submitted either in hard copy form at the Township’s Administrative Offices (located at 5111 South Old 3C Highway, Westerville, Ohio 43082), or electronically via e-mail at pwise@genoatwp. Confirmation of receipt will be provided for all submissions once received. All submissions must be received by Mr. Wise by no later than 4:30pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. All submissions shall be public record. Candidates’ submissions should include, at a minimum: •Budgetary experience •Management experience •Leadership experience •Past community involvement •The desire and amount of time the candidate has available and will dedicate to serving Genoa Township for the remainder of the unexpired term At any time throughout the appointment process, citizens interested in supporting or opposing declared candidates may submit their views in writing to the Board via Township Administrator Paul Wise. All letters and/or e-mails received from the public during the process will be shared with the Board for consideration. All letters and/or e-mails shall also be available in the public record. Second, following close of business on November 26, 2014, the Township Administrator will provide all candidates’ materials to Trustees Carfagna and Gebhardt for their consideration.
