On October 1st, supporters of Mercy Walk will have the opportunity to be inspired by a remarkable story of a school in Western Kenya. In 2005, Pine Lake Academy emerged from a poor rural community. It has grown from a preschool to encompass the 8th grade level. The triumphs of Pine Lake Academy are vast and it is becoming renowned regionally for its many successful graduates. In the beginning, the dream of a successful education for the children of this community was considered unreachable but now it is attainable. The continuation of this dream depends on you. Current classrooms are temporary and filled to capacity. Funds for permanent school buildings are essential. This will allow for the proper learning environment and continued long term successes of this remarkable community.
