On October 3, 2013, with the United States Government shut down, our nation spent funds to put up barricades and close the WW2 monument, an outside stone monument elderly WW2 veterans today, fought a new battle. They stormed the grounds of United States soil, pushed the barricades away...ignored the closed sign ... and visited their memorial to remember and honor their brothers in arms, their loved ones, and the friends they fought with.
