On October 8th I went for an annual mammogram. (My last actually being 7 years ago d/t not having insurance and life in general.) I received a call saying there were changes and that I would need additional testing. Appt was then made for October 16th. 8 days? Thats way too much time to sit and think about what changes there might be! In between the 8th and today, several calls revealed a 5mm nodule in my left breast. UGH!!! More to worry about. Although 5mm isnt all that big, it is half an inch! More than I cared to have where something didnt belong! 2nd mammogram done. Had to wait for a reading and then was told we are doing an ultrasound. Ok..I thought...I got this...its all good. After the US was done, I was told to wait in that room so the doctor could read the US. Ok, by now, pulse is high and I feel a little faint and scared! It seemed like an eternity by the time the tech came in to tell me that, its just a fluid-filled cyst. We will see you in a year. WHEW!!!! I just want every one to remember that it is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH! GET YOUR MAMMOGRAMS!
