On Robin Williams... In the end... It didnt matter at all how many of us he made laugh- What it came down to was that none of us could make him smile. How selfish... How amazingly selfish of US to say NO, Robin, you shouldnt have. No, I loved you Robin...you made me laugh in those movies. How ridiculous of us to make this about us... This man wasnt on this earth to make us laugh... He was not some court jester or some slave to do as we wished.... But Robin, I enjoyed your humor so much! .... How horrible of a thought that even I had... We cower beneath words like Suicide with the shield of words like Depression because thats an easy opponent that we relegate to simplicity like its all in your head or cheer up chap, look how many people you make laugh... Who am I to judge what he or anyone like him was going through? You know- maybe his life was a constant hell and pain and torture in his head and his heart every single day. Maybe all he wanted wanted was to be rid of that pain and who the hell am I to say No man, you must continue to be in emotional pain for years because I liked you in movies!!? How much torment could you handle, how much torture - before you said hey... World.. This is my life... It isnt about you. It isnt about how you enjoy me... Its about how I enjoy you... And frankly right now Im tired of all of you ... This has nothing to do with and should not at all be us SAD that he is gone and that he will not make us assholes cheery any more. This is about how we failed. We as a people and we as a fan base failed to understand a man, and failed to understand a sickness. Depression sucks. And as long as we keep ignoring it- we will continue to fail as human beings.
