On Saturday May 26th, 48 Seguin High School band students competed at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble contest held in Austin. Receiving a first division at TSSEC is extremely difficult and a very high honor as the adjudication is some of the most rigorous that the students will encounter as high school students. We were honored to have 11 band members receive a first division and a gold medal this year. Ashley Hastings - Horn Kim Guerra - Horn Briley McAnulty - Horn Hailey Vogel - Horn Juan Casarez - Euphonium Sara Dibrell - Marimba Caleb Moreno - Marimba Thomas Jimenez - Marimba Nhu-y Tran - Marimba Addie Blinder - Marimba Nick Stephens - Marimba We had 23 students receive a second division and a silver medal. Ronnie Clark - Tuba Morgan Donsbach - Euphonium Kiersten Gustafson - Horn Fernando Vargas - Trombone Dylan Luna - Trumpet Katharine Stephens - Trumpet Romy Ftaiti - Bassoon Austin Hastings - Bassoon Ricardo Moreno - Bassoon Alex Bresino - Trombone Kaley Younger - Trombone Nick Melchor - Bass Trombone Korey Krueger - Marimba Jade Gonzales - Multiple Percussion Simon Hernandez - Marimba Chris Hickey - Marimba Jordan Ortiz - Marimba Jeff Hettinger - Marimba Valerie Medina - Marimba Seth Lawler - Marimba Sara Sanchez - Marimba Gabriella Rodriguez - Marimba Seguin ISD is proud of these students and their hard work.
