On Saturday, October 11, 2014 at about 11 pm Officers Adam LePrevost and Warren Ackerman responded to a 9-1-1 open line call on Pine St. When they arrived to check on the call they found a house full of smoke. Upon checking to see if the male occupant was still in the house they had discovered he had collapsed near the back door. Because of where the male had collapsed entry into the house was difficult but the officers were able to force the door enough so that Officer Ackerman could get into the house. Officer Ackerman was able to move the male victim enough to get the door opened so the officers could get him out. The fire department arrived and put out the fire which had extended to the second floor. The cause of the fire is believed have been a piece of furniture to close to a wood stove. I would like to publicly commend Officers Ackerman and LePrevost on their quick response and action in this situation. Chief Dennis Dyer.
