On Saturday, September 28, the Pulaski Police Department as part of the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce will be conducting a Child ID Event located at the town’s Train Station, during Pulaskifest. The event will occur from 10AM-2PM. The Child ID Kit contains all the vital information necessary to expedite law enforcement efforts to locate a missing child. Information about the child will be saved in an easy to read format and burned onto a CD or DVD. When the parent is provided a copy of the CD, the information is purged and no records are kept. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children considers this to be one of the most comprehensive child recovery and identification programs. The program also helps educate families about abduction prevention and safety. The service is free and only takes a few minutes.
