On Saturday at the close of service Pastor Bill Reed shared his morning prayer with us and challenged us to also offer ourselves sacrificially. His prayer is below. Feel free to use, with your own name of course. My morning prayer (based on Rom. 12:1,2 and Gal. 2:20) Good morning, Lord. This is Bill Reed reporting for duty. And I am reporting praying that I will be a living sacrifice for you today, holy and acceptable which is my reasonable act of service and worship. I know that a living sacrifice is an oxymoron because typically in the Old Testament sacrifices were killed. Yet I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. I am also praying that I will no longer be conformed to this world, but rather transformed by the renewing of my mind so that I may know your good, perfect and pleasing will. O Holy Spirit, may you have conscious, continuous, complete control of my life.
