On Saturday evening just before 8:00 PM, Engine Company 21, Rescue Companies 20 and 14 were dispatched to the Taylor Bridge Bypass for the auto accident with entrapment. Engine 1-21 and Chief 2-20 Matter arrived to find EMS out with a vehicle into a tree with three patients, 1 being confined and 1 heavily trapped. The Rescue (Captain Owen) arrived with 7 and went to work stabilizing and starting to extricate. Engine 1-21s crew pulled a hand line for protection while crews from 21,20 and 13 (in place of Co.14) worked for nearly 35 minutes on extrication. Engine Company 19 and the second Engine from 21 established two landing zones. Chief 5B (Lantz) had command and Chief 2-20 (Matter) had operations. All crews worked hand in hand to complete the extrications.Special thanks to all the fire police and EPPD for the assistance.
