On Saturday, the 17th of May, Norway will celebrate its national day. This year’s national day marks the bicentenary anniversary of the Norwegian constitution. The constitution is the second oldest in the world, which is still in use. It established the legal framework and the separation of powers in which our modern society is based upon. It is a vital document which paved the way for democracy, development and welfare in our society; furthermore, it is a national icon – a symbol of freedom, and independence.
