On Sept. 28th, 2013, Zeb, 11 yrs. old, was airlifted from his families home in Lostine, OR to Randall Childrens Hospital at Legacy Emanuel, in Portland, OR. because of a disorder called Stevens-Johnson/TENS syndrome. This is a rare and serious disorder in which your skin and mucous membranes react severely to a medication or infection. Often, this syndrome begins with flu-like symptoms, followed by a painful red or purplish rash that spreads and blisters, eventually causing the top layer of skin to die and shed. Recovery after can take weeks to months, depending on the severity of the condition, Zeb spent many days in the ICU and weeks at the hospital. He is currently recovering at home with the support and love from his family and community.
