On Sunday, October 26th, 2014 I will be heading over to assist our neighboring friends of Pickens County to take part in a fundraiser event that focuses on the Awareness of Disabilities and Special Needs...It is the goal to help raise funds for this very important cause and although Im in Anderson County, I have many close friends and family members that reside in Pickens County and feel honored to be asked to attend. It is called an Empathy Lunch...we will each be given a disability when we arrive and will proceed through the luncheon dealing with the challenges that we have been given. Not many folks believe me when I tell them that my very own daughter deals with a disability...She is legally blind. Although it hasnt slowed her down in becoming a successful dance instructor/business owner, she has had her challenges. I embrace this opportunity to help others in any way that I can and Im grateful to network with other like minded people who feel the same way. If this is an event that you would be interested in attending, please let me know. I would love to have you attend with me. It is being held at 5 Point Church in Easley, SC at 2:00 p.m. Members of the Senate, State House Reps, Council members, School Board Members, and many others will be in attendance. Please come join us and make this a successful event! The presentation and lunch are free, however donations can be made at the exit. All monies collected go to Pickens County DDSNs activity fund. :)
