On Thanksgiving day I spent 12 hours at the airport between Bali & Malaysia~ it was pretty incredible.. I have already been in Bali 2 months now & in order to stay longer you are obliged to leave the country & enter again the same day if you wish. Ive been hearing that people usually go to Singapore because its the closest so without a second thought I got online & booked me a same day return ticket to Singapore ~ not knowing it was on Thanksgiving that day. With just laptop wallet & passport I jumped into a cab & went to Denpasar airport Bali. I breezed in casually & tried to check in but they wouldnt let me as I didnt have a visa for Singapore. Im not leaving Singapore airport I told them but they werent having it. They wont allow you into Singapore immigration if you dont have a visa they explained. The only thing you can do now is buy another ticket for $300 & go to Malaysia instead in 2 hours. Im not buying another ticket Ive already spent $200 on this one, just change my route & from Singapore to Malaysia thats all you have to do. We cant the woman started to get excited with a forthcoming energy that said dont try it honey its not gonna happen like it or lump it. I stood up very straight very slowly & put on my bestest British very rofessional voice & said if you cant help me please be kind enough to call me your supervisor. She looked at me cocked her head to the side & put on a cranky wry smile & with determination & triumphant absolution said I AM the Supervisor!! Not to me youre not I said quietly you cant help me so send me someone who can or refund my money immediately. She looked at her female peers for support & started talking at 100 miles an hour in Balinese to two of them who had come to her aid. Call me the airport manager please I repeated I dont want to miss the flight to Malaysia. I stood quietly while everyone disappeared & I was left there looking at the empty seat. I closed my eyes & said this is going to flow beautifully exactly as it should with a wonderful solution dear Lord please I have no patience for these corporate monsters that charge you for farting on the plane now. Pleeeese make this good! A minute later a sweet quite looking man in uniform with a gentle smile with a name tag Godo approached me (really?). He looked at me anxiously & waited quietly as if to say I hear you have a problem. I told him my story & after a few questions & a phone call he said Ok Miss Attia our manager has a very good solution for you. I will get you on the next plane to Malaysia & you just have to pay the difference of $60. I wanted to jump him & give him a rawsome leg wrap around his waist & smack him on the lips. Thank you so much thats very kind if you I said sweetly & smiled. I looked up. You never fail me thank you. Three hours later we landed in a cold rainy Kualalumpur. I had only 3 hours layover before I jumped on the plane back home. I went through customs with a breeze~ no papers to fill out no scrambling for pens no lines no stress .. It was like being on a conveyor belt & watching everything from the VIPoo balcony. The immigration guys name was Mohamed. Wow thats my fathers & grandfathers name too & all the other men in Egypt whose names arent Mustafa & Ahmed. He laughed & took my passport schlinged it under his laser beam & said youre welcome to stay 90 days in Malaysia Miss Attia. Just me or is everyone else invited? I couldnt believe how easy it was. I exited immigration & bang into the Champagne isle then perfumes make up chocolates & so much more other fun! Thank you God Thank you for this wonderful magical happy Life!
