On This day in HipHop history: April 3rd – G.O.O.D. Music releases the smash hit “Mercy”, on G.O.O.D. Music Records, on this day in 2012. The G.O.O.D. Music collective would actually comprise of Kanye West, Big Sean and Pusha T. Def Jam artist 2 Chainz would also be featured on the multi-platinum hit song. Production on the Grammy-nominated smash would be handled by Lifted, Mike Will Made It, Hudson Mohawk, Mike Dean and Kanye West. “Mercy” would be from the G.O.O.D. Music compilation “Cruel Summer” released the same year. G.O.O.D. Music was a label launched by Kanye West, whose name would be an acronym for “Getting Out Our Dreams”.
