On Thursday, October 16th, both the Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams finished 2nd at the District Meet in Seward, qualifying them both to compete at the State Meet in Kearney on October 24. The top runner in the boys’ race was Lukas Stuckey who finished in 9th Place with a time of 17:39.10. Senior Jesse Harlow also finished in the Top 15 for the Dukes. Also contributing to the team effort were Drew Hoffmann, Logan Kaliff, Riley Wehrer and Carlos Grijalva. In the girls race, three Dukes were in the top fifteen: Erin Lee, Julia Lee, and Lauren Boyer. Erin Lee came in at 2nd in the race with a time of 19:38.70. Coming in at 6th was freshman Julia Lee and at 9th Place Senior Lauren Boyer. Also representing York were Hannah Way, Madelyn Royal and Josie Lee. The top three teams from each district qualify for State as a team. The Top fifteen runners in each District qualify to compete as an individual. The State Meet will be held at the Kearney Country Club on Friday, October 24.
