On Thursday evenings, a team of four lead a Career Transitions group. We speak on many different topics, have a forum of folks who participate throughout the semester and in 2014 alone have gotten 63 folks back to work. There is a disconnect in the application process these days – who would you rather hire? A candidate who “posts and prays” or a candidate who is referred? For me, it’s a candidate who is referred, so we teach them to network, reach out to hiring managers and recruiters and be the REFERRED rather than just the applicant. Today, we have two recruiters, an IT executive and a programmer who help lead it and we serve about 20-30 people every week. Are you giving back?
