On Tuesday November 19 at 7:15pm the Village Planning Board is holding the long awaited PUBLIC hearing on the expansion of Northern Dutchess Hospital. There are many concerns about the project and everyone should be there to express their views. This is our right as citizens. Here are two issues that many have expressed concerns about: Tree Demolition - The number of trees that will be cut down to expand the parking lot is in dispute. Health Quest originally said 34, but another report stated 80. Heres a link to the conflicting numbers: save-rhinebeck-green-space/#!tree-demolition/c1xcs Parking Lot Lighting - The hospital proposal appears to call for the addition of 47 12-15 foot light fixtures on the hospitals grounds. This dramatic increase in nighttime lighting will change the look and feel of our neighborhood and the northern entrance to historic Rhinebeck village. There is a lot of background information about the project here on our website: We look forward to seeing you at the hearing.
