On Yoplaits Pink top campaign: For every top you send in, they give 10 cents. If you ate three cups of Yoplait every day for the four months of the campaign, September to December, and sent in every lid, your total donation would be 34 dollars. Really, write a check. -Pink Ribbon, Ink One of my biggest annoyances is what is know as cause marketing. October is the worst month for this. Basically, a company makes money off you by donating part of their profit (usually not a significant portion) to a certain cause (breast cancer for October). There are 2 major problems I have with this: 1) it takes advantage of people who think theyre having a bigger impact than they really are, and 2) it makes companies look good when really it cost them NOTHING. Dont get me wrong, donating to important causes is great. Im just saying do it directly. Youll make a much bigger impact and wont line someone elses pockets in the process.
