On a hike a couple of days ago, I came upon these beautiful cactus flowers, and they made me think of resilience, being open to change, being able to thrive in the harshest of conditions, creating our own destiny and reaching our highest fulfillment. RESILIENCE 1: the capability of a strained body to recover its size and shape after deformation caused especially by compressive stress 2: an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change People with an internal locus of control, who feel that they control their own destiny, rather than their fate being largely determined by external forces--tend to be happier, less depressed, and less stressed. Fate is something that happens to us when we disengage with our own life, allowing external environmental forces, and other people, to dictate outcome. Destiny is something we have the power to create every day, envisioning our highest fulfillment.
