On a sunny winter day, well over a year ago, Gregor and I were sitting on a bench in Union Square. I spotted a thick, coffee table book in a high quality shopping bag across the path. Greg picked it up. The price tag was $40. We asked everyone around us if it was theirs. They all said no. I gave up. Greg didn’t. He ran a few blocks to the store to see if they could help. He didn’t have much time. He was going to be late for something, maybe class-- I can’t remember-- so he really had to hurry. Fifteen minutes later he returned dripping sweat. They could not locate the owner. As he caught his breath, I shot him a look. He responded “Ive lost things before. I know how it feels. It’s terrible. I had to try.” Yesterday, Greg and his girlfriend Claudia brought our campaign to nearly $10,000. I met Greg on the first day of my first acting class. I worked on my first ever scene with him. Greg and Claudia are wonderful actors. They work constantly in theaters all across Europe. Claudia just began a new play last week, mazal tov! My parents love them, my siblings love them, I love them. I just teared up. By the way, Greg insisted that I keep the book. Thank you. –Yitzy https://kickstarter/projects/1070906999/entitled-the-story-of-a-selfish-bastard/posts
