On acting on a call, from an old age home in Assagaon, Community Hope Center informing us of a male senior citizen who has suddenly taken ill and is unable to walk. On visiting the Home today, met with the senior citizen Mr. Flavour who has suffered a stroke and now unable to do anything on his own. I have visited this home several times and on one occasion had even taken most of the inmates for the medical check up. The said part is that this senior citizen having family, living in Goa and his son in wife who live in Portugal, who have has dumped this senior citizen in a Home. Is this the day he thought would come when besides being put in a Home, depriving him of his family life after doing his job as a father and a husband to some heartless human beings. Today, Flavio faces another difficult task of suffering with stroke and with no family to share his pain with. A very famous saying in the Konkani Language which is mostly seen at the front gates of most of the burial grounds aaz maka, falea tuka which means today its me, tomorrow its you. I wish all you children of parents who are left in such homes the same as you have done unto your parents. Jai Hind Michael Ferns
