On all the Israeli TV channels, ongoing speculative discussions about the future of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, following the murder of the three youngsters, who got kidnapped in Kfar Etzion settlement. Panels with politicians from the right and the left. The right wing is saying what the right wing has always claimed: Theres no partner for peace, and the Palestinians only understand violence, we need to retaliate, and hit them hard, while the left wing is also repeating exactly what the left always believed: Especially now, we need to reach out to Palestinian leaders empower them, and collaborate with them to isolate the extremists. Both are convincing their own crowds, no one managing to change the opinion of their opponents, and its all just a lot of bla bla bla and futile chit chat. What we need in my personal opinion (and Ill probably also be convincing the convinced) is a change in paradigm, where we look at the bigger picture and realise we are doomed to be living together on this very small piece of land, and peace is not an option, it is a survival necessity. Only if we had peace (as cold as it may be, cause a cold peace is much better than a cold war!) we would be able to prevent both the injustice and the violence.
