On character diversity and character subjectivity in video games. A notable quote: I realized I was doing that thing where I was like “need to show that this is a female character, how can I do that? WITH BOOBS”. But that is such a narrow view of gender and a lazy technique. I realized I wasn’t going out of my way to do similar things with the male characters. I realized that I was allowing every other character to express their identity through how they acted, their clothing, their names, all of these signifiers.
