On friday of this week Molly is going to be homeless, those of you who know me well are fully aware of the difficulties she encounters on a daily basis. For those who dont, Molly has Aspergers, epilepsy, EDS a learning difficulty, challenging behaviour and significant mental health problems, she has been residing in supported living, with 2-1 carers 24/7 for the last year. Admittedly Molly has been a challenge to their service, however they are being paid handsomely. This care is provided by a company called Bay View Care, according to their CQC statement are fully trained to look after young people like Molly. 3 weeks ago the owner of said company served notice on Molly, giving her until the 19th of December to find alternative care!!!! As it stands today Molly has NO WHERE to live, just days before Christmas. finding a placement that will support her needs in 4 weeks is an impossible task. KCC and I have begged them to give us a few more weeks to find somewhere, but he has refused. (Those of you who ask yourself, why dont I have her home? The answer to this is that Caitlin would not be safe) I have contacted the local news who are hopefully going to report on this, however talking to them they seemed more interested in slating KCC, who quite honestly have been fantastic, the problem lies with greedy companies, who register with the CQC then lie and say they can provide a service, take the money, and pull out when the going gets tough!!
