On last Sunday morning !!! I went to make a survey on the biking route to Khwan Riam Floating Market to prepare our half day bike trip would be held on 21 September that is the Car Free Day 2014 in Thailand. This floating market is located by Saen Saep canal between the two Buddhism temples, Wat Bumphen Nua and Wat Bumphen Tai. The market is found in Soi 187 of Ramkhamheng road, the distance is only less than 20km from city center like Soi Thonglor. Well, the place is well known by all Thai people as the stage of one of the famous Thai movie stories named Phlae Kao (it means The old injury ) that is just now in theaters and its story is very similar to the drama Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare ! The market was not far from our lacation at Sukhumvit 55 but the traffic conditions on the way was very bad and dangerous due to too busy traffic near Ramkhamheng university and also Bangkapi area. This is the reason why I tried to check if we should ride bikes on the bike path along Saen Saep canal. Anyway, Khwan Riam floating market is one of the most recommendable sight seeing spot for all foreigners in Bangkok because its not yet well known by foreigners but the place is really interesting with the love ramance legend and it is well organized on security and cleanliness. Beside, the market is very convenient to access through both Outer Ring road and Ramkhamheng road from Bankok city center. I hope more and more Thai and Bangkok lovers from all over the world visit here to make better understanding on Thai peoples life and culture !! Anyway, the floating market is opened only on public holiday. Do not go there on a weekday !
