On monday - two days before today, Christmas Day - I received an email from a mother trying to track down one of my titles. I sent her the publishers details. Alas they no longer exist BUT she was able to track down copies that had been sent to a wildlife sanctuary (its an animal book). No possibility of the book arriving for Santas sack (that would be overnight delivery for it to arrive Christmas Eve). The book was a special request from the son (he had carried around the library copy everywhere with him and wanted his own) so I wrote a letter to the 7 year old lad and emailed it back last night. At least if he couldnt find the book in the his Santa sack he could uncover a letter from the author! BUT a Christmas miracle - the book arrived!! And so this morning his mother sent this note to me ... he got it as part of his Santa sack; it took an hour or so before he picked it up quietly and started to look at it. And found your letter. And is now beside himself with excitement, every now and then just murmuring Im so lucky!. He loves it - so special - hes just showing my husband the diamond Python, telling him its Christophers favourite!. He has a blue-tongue called Lucky; reptiles are his favourite too. ... Just makes me all gooey inside!
