On my commute home from my LPC group supervision session where we discuss different cases. I began to reminisce about my life. Ive been through a lot at an early age: caring for five children at age 22, losing my father and caring for my mother that had suffered a stroke and heart attack for two years. We had very little money, but we never went a day without food our water or electric were never disconnected, we pretty much had everything that we needed. The point is, I am a mental health therapist, things could be really different for me. I very well could have been the person suffering from a mental illness and receiving services. Theres not a lot of people that have been able to cope with the things Ive experienced. I know bc some if them are my clients. These are the ones that life beat them up. Its not because Im so great or so strong, its simply because God had his hand on me and he is still keeping me.
