On my way home from work, I stop at Costco for the cheaper gas. It wont take my debit card and keeps giving me a transaction failed message. The guy says to me well do you have enough money in your account…to which I reply of course I do. I try again…same message. He then tells me he has had this happen before maybe I should move to another pump and try again. So I do with the same result. I leave intending to contact my bank and see if there is a problem with my card. As I head home, I decide to stop at the Co-op Gas Bar and the same damn thing happens. I then use my credit card (from the same bank) and have no trouble BUT now Im in a panic. I am sure my card has been compromised and have visions of my account being cleaned out. It has been over a week since I last used my card. I rush in the door and go online to check my account only to see the bank was having some technical difficulties affecting a small percentage of their customers. Guess I am part of that small percentage….why cant I be the small percentage of the population that wins a BIG LOTTO???????
