On my way to drop my dad off at the C.R. Airport this morning, I heard something I consider quite mortifying on NPR. There is a corporation trying to develop a part of the Grand Canyon. Im talking a about 1,000s of houses, a raised walking path in the canyon itself and restaurants among other things. Not only do these people think that no damage will be done to the canyon after all the construction and an estimated 10,000 daily visitors. They are blatantly ignoring the opinions of the elder traditional land using Navajo Indians whose land the construction would take place on. The only way an injustice like this is going to be stopped is if we voice our opinion! This isnt just sacred Indian land this is a beautiful piece of our country that took millions of years to form no man made structure can improve on such a thing! Please friends make yourself heard, as this simply cant be allowed to happen!
