On my way to pick up a few things to bring to PA, on 2nd Ave I bumped into the carpenter (a true and true NY character straight out of Seinfeld) who expertly resolved the rodent issue in my apartment. He had left on the last day of the job on my counter a heads-up about a Edgar A. Poe event at the Poe cottage in The Bronx. Did you get that notice about Poe I left for you? Yes, I did, thank you kindly. Yeah, I thought of you. Theyll be lots of old rich ladies there looking for a young guy like you. And I thought youre kind of nuts anyway, and would appreciate it. Someone gets me. Sort of.
