On one hand, I understand how teachers voluntarily took on jobs - TopicsExpress

On one hand, I understand how teachers voluntarily took on jobs with below average salaries and heavy work loads. On the other hand, we did not want to pick a field where many of the economic forces are working against us. How do you cope with being in a dying industry? What if your job will not help you support yourself---much less a family---in the future? Would you be willing to become an indentured servant in order to stay with your desired career? Adjunct professors are relied upon more and more to teach many students, but these teachers are making poverty level wages (refer to links below in the comments). Note to reader: only my second job is as an adjunct professor; my main job is full-time with health benefits.
