On one of the last pages of this years yearbook, we asked students “how has one moment changed you since the beginning of this school year?”. I thought you all might like to see what some of the students wrote about YOU and the programs you all work so hard on to give kids a chance to grow and succeed, to learn from their mistakes. Reading these responses is proof that GB is the best and YOU ALL are the best. The theme of our yearbook allowed us to ask this question in many ways all year long. This is just one page that represents how important our school is to shaping lives, from academics to sports to clubs. We just couldnt wait to share some of the thousands of answers like this we have been looking at all year. 1. Drama made me realize how courageous I am. Serena Bowie 2. Receiving Student of the month helped me realize that I am more important to my teacher in running a classroom than I thought. Hannah Schult 3. In my AP Stats class, we were told that when we get a bad grade on a test or quiz to keep a growth mindset. Don’t let a bad grade ruin future grades; learn from it: Tommy Messner 4. Being accepted into the mat Olympics with the potential to be entered by the teacher into the talents portion made me realize I can do things and gain confidence in myself. Samantha Cavotta 5. Having Ms. Belill back! Kallie Wheeler 6. Being made a leader in Winter Guard and having my first solo. It has made me realize that I am not as bad as I think. Courtney Misener 7. Getting almost all As showed me that hard work does pay off. Jennilee Bologna 8. Getting an A in AP Biology made me realize I do have the potential to do well in AP classes. Nayan Suryavanshi 9. I took AP Psych and have learned so much about people, how they work and why. Kelly Grant 10. Getting told by my hockey coach that I have exceeded expectations that he had set for me made me realize I won’t let anyone else’s standards hold me back from my full potential. Mark Vansaw 11. Boxing has made me more competitive. Kyle Frost 12. Being a student of the month has made me realize that I can accomplish anything if I try. Savannah Corrigan 13. Meegint my second hour teacher, Mrs. Willing. Terri Green 14. Getting accepted into Choral. Miar Abauaita 15. Hearing the ‘bullet-not-buckshot’ explanation in AP Lang helped me grow as a writer more than anything ever before and has helped me appreciate writing more. Ben Kent-Bryant 16. Becoming Varsity Girls’ Basketball captain made me become more of a leader. Jenna Endsley 17. October, 2013 Student of the Month helped me realize I’m not a real jerk. Griffin Seguin 18. Getting Student of the Month in History changed my work ethic. Austin Fransen 19. Being in the LINK program made me realize that I’m being very helpful. Victoria Hool 20. Me not getting as much playing time as I wanted during football season made me realize I have to work harder on and off the field. De’Aundre Simpkins 21.
