On second thought, there is a little plausibility to the idea that someone is trying to kill the old man. That kind of power is dangerous. If he ever decides he wants out, for whatever reason, somebody will kill him first. Its like the mafia; no one really gets out alive. Now Im disturbed by my own insight. I lost one artistic father last year (Seamus Heaney); now I stand to lose the other. Best try to prepare myself for it, if I can. Itll blow me into pieces. I dont think I can write this review - maybe I should bow out of this project this time around. Maybe by the time Songs of Experience is released I can review them together; theyre meant to be sister-albums, after all. Hm, the irony of this song. Poor Songbird.
