On that it shouldnt have happened I agree with OReilly on splitting hairs I agree with Smiley. If the chokehold was not illegal but against NYPD policy then officer Daniel Pantaleo should have loosened his grip and with the whole event being on video, then what is video for if its going to result in a a double standard. Legalities will always take precedence over the morality of any issue when it comes to anything under the the guise of the law thats why theres a fine line between good lawyers and rich lawyers. Same can be said about the court proceedings when it comes to the death of a street vendor of untaxed cigarettes and the future of a productive officer of the law, almost like who gets the donated kidney the clean living person or the pack a day smoker. The death may have been accidental but it shouldnt have happened. Now this is me talking here, but if youre casing an area of street crime as in the sales of single packs of untaxed cigarettes and you focus on an individual the size of an offensive front lineman who has been known to partake of this illegal activity and your plan is to take him down, by all means use officers who can actually apprehend the culprit in one...two...three. I mean try not to use officers that resemble school crossing guards so hopefully neither the officers or the person being arrested get hurt. The man is a lawbreaker, ok we get that, the man doesnt want to be bothered, and we get that to mean resisting in legal terms, well it is NYPDs job to take him down but not 6ft in a hole, and if you are still saying, we werent there we dont know, then what is video for and why in the hell are police starting to use personal body cams?
