On the Police Problem in the USA and NYC..... Cops don’t come - TopicsExpress

On the Police Problem in the USA and NYC..... Cops don’t come before the law. The Law, as expressed by the political process, i.e., the institutions of Democracy, is the Master of the Cops. Period. Case Closed. To the extent that any police officer turns his/her back on the legally elected Civilian Authority that controls the police, then that police officer is guilty of prima facie Insubordination and should be Terminated. Cops might prefer living in a community ruled by the whims of individual police officers and the police union, but what they prefer is here again, as in too many other instances, contrary to the Law, and to the rights and lives of every citizen of the United States and all its communities. If cops don’t like being subordinate to the institutions of democracy, they can quit, or as Ronald Reagan put it, they can vote with their feet !!! But if they want to get police paychecks and police pensions paid for by the public, then they had better damned well accommodate themselves to subordinating themselves to the Civil Authority, and failing that, they should be Terminated and go compete in the private sector for jobs offering them similar pay and pension and benefits to what they get for taking a job that puts the Civil Authority, the institutions of democracy, in full charge of them. If they choose to do so, I wish them good luck.
