On the day that we focus on praying for those who have lost - TopicsExpress

On the day that we focus on praying for those who have lost loved ones to death we look to the day that He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. (Revelation 21:4) We ask for the Lord to wrap strong arms of comfort around those who are mourning and that they have strength for the next step in their lives. Grief is a process; sometimes we feel like overcomers and sometimes we feel overcome with sorrow. I love this song and we know that Jesus was acquainted with grief, sorrow and death so He could relate to us. https://youtube/watch?v=qqECV5vBF1A Henri J.M. Nouwen writes, Joy does not come from positive predictions about the state of the world. It does not depend on the ups and downs of the circumstances our lives. Joy is based on the spiritual knowledge that, while the world in which we live is shrouded in darkness, God has overcome the world. Jesus says it loudly and clearly: In the world you will have troubles, but rejoice, I have overcome the world. The surprise in not that, unexpectedly, things turn out better than expected. No, the real surprise is that Gods light is more real than all the darkness, that Gods truth is more powerful than all human lies, that Gods love is stronger than death.
