On the eve of Mahāprabhu’s taking sannyāsa, mother Śacī-mata - TopicsExpress

On the eve of Mahāprabhu’s taking sannyāsa, mother Śacī-mata was crying and Mahāprabhu was consoling her. Locana Dāsa Ṭhākura has mentioned this in Caitanya-maṅgala. Mahāprabhu told her: ki nārī, puruṣa āra kevā kāra pati śrī-kṛṣṇa-caraṇa vinu āra nāhi gati Who is really one’s husband? Who is one’s wife? One may be a male or female, but the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa is the only true relationship. sei pitā, sei mātā, sei bandhu-jana sei hartā, sei kartā, sei mātra dhana Kṛṣṇa is the only father, mother, and friend. Only He is the doer, He is the only wealth, He is everything. putra-snehe kara more yata baḍa bhāva śrī-kṛṣṇa-carane haile kata haya lābha You have developed affection toward Me as a son, but if you developed the same affection unto the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa, then just imagine what you would get. Mahāprabhu is Kṛṣṇa, but He never says: “I am Kṛṣṇa.” He always thinks of Himself as a devotee of Kṛṣṇa: gopī-bhartuḥ pada-kamalayor dāsa-dāsānudāsaḥ He is a disguised incarnation, that is why He spoke this way to Śacī-mata. Mahāprabhu said: sei se parama-bandhu, sei mātā-pitā śrī-kṛṣṇa-caraṇe yei prema-bhakti-dātā One who has established my relationship with Kṛṣṇa; he is my supreme friend, my mother and father. He is Guru. He is Dīkṣā-guru, the Guru who gives initiation. He is Sambandha-dātā; he is giving Sambandha-jñāna, knowledge of our relationship with Kṛṣṇa. Then He says: āmāra nistāra haya tora paritrāṇa śrī-kṛṣṇa-caraṇa bhaja — chāḍā putra-jñāna Give up the attitude of thinking Me your son. Think of Kṛṣṇa as your son. Establish your relationship with Kṛṣṇa and do Bhajana at His lotus feet. Then you will be delivered and I will be delivered. ānera tanaya āne rajata-suvarṇa khāile vināśa pāya — nahe para-dharma An ordinary son will only earn some money. He will bring some silver or gold for the maintenance of his old father, mother, family, wife, and sons. By hook or by crook, to obtain money he will commit many sinful activities. Some are selling wine; some are selling beef, killing the cow. They are committing so many sinful activities to earn money. If you enjoy that money, what will be your destination? khāile vināśa pāya nahe para-dharma You will die and go to hell. You will not be able to achieve the fifth Puruṣārtha, the mission of human life. Risking Death dhana-upārjana ka’re āne baḍa duḥkha dhanai yāuka kivā āpani maruka Earning money brings so much suffering. One toils hard like an ass day and night. Sometimes he is put into a very dangerous situation. Dacoits may come and kill him. Government people may catch him, put him into jail, and sentence him to death. I saw one story in the newspaper of a Canadian lady who had collected some gold from Tokyo. She cut the gold into little pieces, put it in capsules, and swallowed it. When she was passing through the airport it was detected. The customs department captured her. They cut open her belly and got it out. Now she is going to die. This is the nature of earning money. Similarly, an ordinary son also risks death to earn money. āmi āni diba kṛṣṇa-prema hena dhana sakala-sampada-maya kṛṣṇera caraṇa Therefore Mahāprabhu told His mother that He was taking Sannyāsa to bring real wealth: “An ordinary son only brings mundane wealth. I am going to bring the wealth of Prayojana-siddhi, the ultimate goal.” kṛṣṇa-prema hena dhana kṛṣṇa-prema is the real treasure. “Why are you crying? I am taking sannyāsa to bring that wealth. sakala-sampada-maya kṛṣṇera caraṇa Thereby you will get the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa which are the source of all fortune.” This is a real son. No need of swallowing capsules so that your belly will be torn open and you die. He tells Śacī-mata: sakala janame pitā, mātā sabhe pāya kṛṣṇa-guru nāhi mile bujhiha hiyāya In every life one gets a father and mother. Rarely, however, does one obtain guru and Kṛṣṇa. Drinking Poison In these teachings to Śacī-mata from Caitanya-maṅgala Mahāprabhu has described Sambandha-jñāna, Abhidheya and Prayojana-siddhi — the topmost goal, kṛṣṇa-prema. One who has not established his relationship with Kṛṣṇa, who is not performing kṛṣṇa-bhajana, has only established temporary relationships which are the source of trouble and misery.....Guar Gobind Maharaj
