On the fourth Wednesday of every month, the Guild hosts a free program for members and volunteers. Todays guest speaker was Dr. Thomas Graham, Flagler College Professor Emeritus. Dr. Graham spoke of the sources of building materials that Mr. Flagler extracted locally for his building projects. Hot off the press is Dr. Grahams most recent book Mr. Flaglers St. Augustine tells the story of how one of the wealthiest men in America spared no expense to turn the nation’s oldest city into a highly desirable vacation destination for the rich. The book was published by University Press of Florida and can be purchased at Amazon. Each month we will feature a different guest speaker including lighthouse staff, archaeologists, local historians and other area experts.
