On the last fly fishing course we took the participants to Red Beach on Bribie Island for the on water part of the course. This is a really popular recreational fishing spot that is heavily fished by commercial beach netters. Red Beach is one of the areas proposed to become a recreational fishing haven as described in the campaign below. We understand that commercial fishers have a role in the community, but think that its reasonable to propose that our local beaches be reserved for recreational anglers.
