On the left June 1, day 1, mile 0. On the right June 29, day 25 (hiking), mile 320. I want to thank my family for supporting me during this adventure. Thanks to Mike, my son, for giving me a lift to Springer. Thanks to my wife Debbie and granddaughter Maddie for picking my tired butt up at the end and thanks to my daughter Alyssa for the support texts along the way. Most of all I thank God for giving me the strength to climb up and down so many mountains and for keeping my surgically repaired heart clicking away. So many hikers that I met were amazed to hear that St. Jude’s titanium valve ticking like a well wound clock. Many would say “Iron Man has nothing on you.”
