On the morning of Monday 14 July, almost a week into Israels Operation Protective Edge, the latest Palestinian death toll stands at 172, with another 1260 wounded (given by Gazas MoH at 02:00 early Monday). On Sunday, the MoH reported that the attack had to date killed 36 children, 24 women, & 9 elderly men. The UN OCHA briefing released at 15:00 on Sunday recorded at least 168 deaths of which 133 - 80% - were civilians. 36 of those were children. OCHA also recorded 940 Palestinian homes destroyed or severely damaged. PCHR-Gaza, meanwhile, has cited a figure of more than 130 for the number of civilians killed, reporting 35 children & 26 women to be among the dead. These numbers naturally have small discrepancies, and sadly, are often out of date as they are released. However, the main story is clear. Israel has been conducting a brutal attack of devastation on the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the dead and wounded civilians. As of now, there are still zero Israeli fatalities. As I type this, it seems that Israeli occupation forces have shot and killed a Palestinian nr. Hebron in the West Bank.
