On the occasion of Hindu festival of Dashain - 2070, I wish happiness, good health and prosperity to all my Hindu friends and relatives. As I am a real materialist and also an atheist, personally, I do not have anything to celebrate as such though I participate in none-ritualistic activities, which could be considered participation in fun/eating, and etc activities as guest. However, please go for fun and gaga over eating/drinkings and dress ups, but PLEASE, PLEASE, do not finish your quota of meat items that of the whole year, and also do not finish your savings on artificial fun and pleasure activities. Over eating is injurious and over dress ups is loss making activity - including in your finances and social standing if you are not a teenager/offspring of parents who have one leg at AKHTIYAR. There is a wonderful verse in Sanskrit that reads as below: "Ati darpe hata Lanka, ati mane cha kaurava, Ati dane balirbaddha, ati sarvatra barjayet." Lanka was destroyed because it was glittering too much, The same fate was that of Kauravas as they were too proud, The demon king Bali was thrown to Patala as he was too generous, Hence, too much is harmful always and everywhere. Rest, you are wise enough. Be happy in Dashain but not at the cost of your year-round happiness, your overall health and too much stress on your wallet/purse/bank balance!
