On the of 25 September a local pharmacy notice that three $20 notes taken during the day appeared to be counterfeit. Police were contacted and the notes taken to a bank. All three notes were confirmed as counterfeit. The notes are a high quality copy on polymer paper. The notes are missing the names of those depicted on the notes. The colour appears to be brighter. When you run your fingers across the window you can detect a slight rise. The signature of Flynn on the left of the portrait is quite sharp compared to a genuine note that appears to fade into the reddish background. Police are warning business to take care when accepting $20 notes especially when tendered in multiples.
