On the one hand I do resent the inequality of access and posting - TopicsExpress

On the one hand I do resent the inequality of access and posting that is defined on monetary terms by the Facebook model. On the other hand the Facebook model is a brilliant and even radical application of the idea that by definition all Facebook Users are Advertisers (Friend being an euphemism for Advertiser); so, Facebook has at least three basic categories of advertisers: Advertisers, Friends (who pay to have their posts promoted), and friends (the majority of users). The video below predicts that this model will not sustain, gives reasons why, and compares Facebook to other models such as TV, YouTube, and Google. I predict that as this Facebook model evolves, Facebook will in fact grow, as a significant portion of the using public will grow into a learning curve that will in fact pay to promote their content, either as individuals or groups or even as corporations. At the same time Facebook may see a leveling-off and even some shrinkage of its market share, as competition with or without competitive models will inevitably move into the market and into markets that the Facebook model does not fit. Google+ comes to mind as one significant example.
