On the one year anniversary of 9/11 Charles Fenech and I sat in our lounge room in Melbourne and listed to the Stern broadcast from the year earlier. The audio recording I had was about 2.5 hours long, Id never seen the video from the studio until today. It has become a tradition, not out of morbidity, but because I think what actually occurred can become easily compartmentalized. Remembering what happened as it happened is important. The events and the war that followed felt so far away from Australia, it was odd to experience the disconnect of something terrible happening far away country, something I was and am used to, but where it was happening was where my family live.
